Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Hudson Pointe
At Hudson Pointe, we want to ensure that all of our residents stay in touch with their culture, even when they’re temporarily away from their homes. We do everything we can to create rich cultural experiences for all our residents. This month, staff members and residents came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
From September 15th to October 15th, Americans celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Medico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Why September 15th? Great question! September 15 is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The significance continues, as Mexico celebrates their independence day on September 16th and Chile celebrates on September 18th.
Residents sang along to Latin Music and shared their favorite historical figures and celebrities. Answers varied from Sonia Sotomayor to Jennifer Lopez!
We continued to host our scheduled programs throughout October, but Hispanic Heritage month was definitely one of our most memorable events of 2018.
Thank you to our dedicated staff members who helped facilitate the fiesta, and thank you to all our residents who make our hard work worthwhile.
