At Hudson Pointe at Riverdale, quality care is our highest priority. We treat people beyond their medical needs—we care for their personal well-being.
With the holidays fast approaching, residents at Hudson Pointe are getting into the holiday spirit. From holiday-themed Sing-A-Longs to special religious services, this time of year always raises spirits and fills the halls with joy like no other time can.
Maria Guida can often be found putting her musical talents to good use during our Sing-A-Longs. In honor of the holidays this month, Sing-A-Longs took on a festive tone with a variety of well known Christmas and Hanukkah favorites.
Residents from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds are always able to find services that reflect their beliefs. For the holidays, we make sure to provide an array of specialty religious programs that make our residents feel at home.
While certain services are aimed at specific religious groups, all are welcome and encouraged to participate.
From December 12th through the 20th we celebrated Hanukkah throughout the facility. Many of our Jewish residents took part in the weeklong holiday, lighting a candle each night, exchanging presents, spending time with family and eating Hanukkah treats such as latkes.
At weeks end, we held a Hanukkah Celebration with Barbara. All were encouraged to join in on the fun!
On the days leading up to Christmas, we offered numerous church services to our residents as well as other Christmas services and programs that got everyone into the holiday spirit. Among the services held were our Catholic Mass, Spanish Mass, our wonderful Gospel Service, and Protestant Services.
The holiday cheer didn’t stop there! With the help of students from PS 280, residents got to listen and even join in on a day of Christmas Carolling!
It’s been a joyous month so far at Hudson Pointe but it’s not over yet! From our family to yours we wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
